The five talking points
1. Brighton do it again. Yasin Ayari's early goal and seven saves from Bart Verbruggen gave Brighton a 1-0 win at the Etihad, three days after losing a cup shootout there. City have now lost two league games in a row. Report
2. Carrick's United a point above the drop. Martínez's red card and Palmer's penalty sealed it at Stamford Bridge. United are nine games without a win. Report
3. Spurs take advantage of an early red. Palace were down to ten after 13 minutes, and Tottenham won through goals from Gray and Van Hecke. Palace, who beat Fulham in the cup in midweek, are now in the bottom three.
4. Bournemouth keep rolling. After beating Man Utd and Aston Villa 3-0, Marco Rose's side beat Leeds 2-0, with Adli adding a late second.
5. Jackson scores again, but Villa are held. Nicolas Jackson, who scored the winner against City last weekend, put Villa ahead on 39 minutes, but an own goal credited to Suzuki on 64 minutes brought Fulham level, and it finished 1-1.
