Bayern 2-2 Dortmund: Kane hits the bar from the spot and Fábio Silva's late equaliser keeps Der Klassiker level
Harry Kane, honoured before kick-off as the new Ballon d'Or winner, missed a penalty and had no shots on target, and substitute Fábio Silva equalised in the final minute. Bayern and Dortmund stay level at the top of the Bundesliga, both still unbeaten.

Der Klassiker had everything except a winner. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund drew 2-2 at the Allianz Arena on Saturday 31 October, and remain level on points at the top of the Bundesliga, both unbeaten after eight games.

Kane's difficult night
Kane was honoured before kick-off for his Ballon d'Or win and walked out separately from his team-mates — see Kane wins the Ballon d'Or. It did not go to plan after that.
- His penalty just before the hour hit the bar. It was only his second miss in 27 Bundesliga penalties; the other came against Wolfsburg in May.
- Three minutes later he lost the ball in the move that led to Guirassy's equaliser.
- He had six shots and none on target.
He did respond with the assist for Upamecano's goal, his sixth assist of the league season, according to Opta.
More injury problems for Bayern
Bayern started without Manuel Neuer, Luis Díaz, Jamal Musiala and others — see our Klassiker preview — and lost two more in the first half: Ismael Saibari, who missed a one-on-one on 24 minutes before going off, and Serge Gnabry. Aaron Danks was again in charge with Vincent Kompany still recovering.
Dortmund's resilience
Dortmund had a goal from Jobe Bellingham ruled out after VAR found that Carney Chukwuemeka had collided with the goalkeeper, but they kept coming. Chukwuemeka helped set up Guirassy's equaliser, and Niko Kovač's substitute Fábio Silva scored in the 89th minute.
Dortmund have still not beaten Bayern since 2024, but their unbeaten league record is intact, and they remain level at the top.
